HVAC electrician

Position Summary:

Full service established mechanical contractor in Macomb County, MI is in search of an electrician to join our team of professionals. Candidate will be responsible for supporting the HVAC construction process to promote quality outcomes, provide a safe working environment, and maximize financial performance of multiple construction projects. Our company is selective in its hiring and is looking for someone whom can fit the organizations culture of hard-work, honesty, and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, modify and repair all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment
  • Remain in compliance with current National Electric Code
  • Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches and switch gears
  • Complete work orders and record material utilized on jobs
  • Run computer cables, connect computer jacks and plugs and test for adequate operation
  • Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects
  • Survey electrical systems, circuits and pla
  • Executes close-out processes
  • Supports project safety policies and practices
  • Assisting with scheduling and coordination
  • Liaison with owners, architects, suppliers, etc.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
  • Handle submittals review and approval process
  • Help onsite with development of punch list and punch list completion

Qualifications:

  • In addition to journeyman or master electrician status, Strong Mechanical (HVAC and Plumbing) knowledge
  • Employee management skills
  • College degree helpful but not required
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes (such as reading drawings, understanding specifications, field labor, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of project management principles (such as scheduling and estimating)
  • Knowledge and basic skill in using personal computers and related Microsoft software
  • Skilled in verbal and written communication, developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships, and ability to work under pressure
  • Flexible schedule nights and weekend may be required
  • Ability to travel to and within project sites to oversee progress and resolve issues
  • Candidate must have a good driving record and be able to pass drug testing and background screening
