TITLE: Operations Manager

REPORTS TO: Ownership

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  The Operations Manager manages, supports, develops and trains a team of Project Managers.  Our project managers take center stage and ensure that the projects dates, budget, time, tasks, resources, general work performances and quality of work come together to yield a successful completion.  This role is responsible for making sure that all construction related fields come together in a timely manner, from start to finish.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Manage and guide individuals who have the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct walk through to review scope of work with customer and estimator
  • Responsible for the day to day tasks related to the completion of the scope of work
  • Relay information regarding any change order to estimator and explain cost/time to customer for any and all work that deviates from the original scope of work
  • Execute final walk through and have COS signed
  • Ensure necessary permits are pulled, as applicable
  • Communicate expectations and scheduling of supplier and sub-contractor
  • Schedule and coordinate crews
  • Keep projects on track and possess the ability to foresee the entire project as a whole at all times
  • Meet financial goals and objectives
  • Manage risks during a project to ensure minimal damage, foresee problems before they occur
  • Foster a great safety culture
  • Develop continuous improvement process from preconstruction setup through punch list
  • Partner with the customer and crew through excellent planning, communication, scheduling and coordination to meet or exceed project targets
  • Provide customer service levels that meet or exceed customer expectations throughout the life of the project
  • Proactive in ordering construction materials and thinking of next step on a project
  • Support and engage in a collaborate work environment

 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years Restoration project management experience
  • An extensive network of local, vetted sub-contractors
  • Skilled trades experience e.g.; rough or finish carpentry
  • 5+ years organizing and/or coordinating construction crews
  • Mastery of software for scheduling and tracking jobs
  • MS Office expert
  • Ability to read and interpret prints and project drawings
  • Hold a valid unrestricted driver’s license and have reliable transportation
  • Construction Management degree preferred
